LOEWE began as a cooperative of leather artisans in the centre of Madrid in 1846. It is one of the world’s oldest major luxury houses. By 1910, Loewe had acquired a reputation as the most luxurious leather goods supplier in the city and began expansion over the Spanish territory. In 1934 Enrique Loewe Knappe took over the company and there followed a succession of store openings and expansions.

Afrodita is a fabulous rimless frame from ELK. We particularly love the bridge detail on this 22kt gold plated and platinum model. The temporal sides are mid-set and feature the ELK signature. Luxury rimless glasses.

This frame has been fitted pink fashion tint lenses, which also have an anti reflective coating, and full UV protection. A complex process using precious metal coatings, such palladium, platinum and 22kt gold plated in strategic coats of differing thicknesses achieve a high gold plate (HGP) Turing these frames into a jewel.By the end of the 60’s Loewe was beginning to expand internationally. Fans of the brand included Ava Gardner, Rita Hayworth, Sophia Loren and Ernest Hemingway.
